Stony Plain author weaves captivating new young adult fiction
STONY PLAIN, Alberta — This week marks the nationwide release of “Blessed are the Dead,” a riveting new novel by author K.V. Doerksen.
In “Blessed are the Dead,” Cozbi is confronted by the past she had forgotten from the inside of a coffin. The adrenaline, the grief, the pain — she has to re-experience them all in order to discover what led her to this place of taunting darkness and silence. The more she discovers about her former self, the less she questions why someone might want to lock her away.
Was she captured? Is it a hallucination? Or is it possible that this supernatural experience is death? Something evil lurks in the blackness that surrounds her. It has all the answers, but is Cozbi strong enough to get them without losing herself in the process?
When you’re past the point of saving, who can save you?
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Doerksen is a strong believer in the power of Jesus Christ. She spent a good chunk of her life living for herself, and knows how much more rewarding it is to live life for God. She is lucky to have a very supportive husband and to be the mother of one very precious boy. What started as a way to deal with the loss of her late father has escalated into a passion and a way for her to share the Gospel.
