Deputy, author Jerre Olson featured in The Virginian-Pilot

Tate author and Sherriff’s Deputy Jerre Olson shares the inspiration behind his children’s coloring and textbook, “Color My World,” in a featured article in the Virginian-Pilot.

Olson was motivated to create “Color My World” due to the reading disabilities of his nine-year-old daughter, Kinlly, who was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder in 2015. Little did he and his wife know, many early graders have a comparable problem with colors.

“It’s from a kid’s viewpoint on the colorful things you see in the world every day. It doesn’t replace what kids learn in school but helps supplement their learning.”
