Laredo author uplifts young hospital veterans in new illustrated kids’ book
LAREDO, Texas — Young author Madelynn Faith Niles imparts courage to kids who have to visit the hospital through her new children’s book, “My Hospital Journey: It’s Okay to Be Afraid.” This uplifting kids’ read will be up for grabs nationwide this week.
A trip to the hospital can be very scary, especially for children. In “My Hospital Journey,” Niles walks young readers through her entire hospital adventure that she has undergone every six months since the age of three. Through her story, the author shares an encouraging lesson: Although a hospital trip can be frightening and can even hurt sometimes, children will soon see that it is okay to be afraid.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Niles is an 11-year-old author, who lives in Laredo, Texas, with her mother; father; big brother, Jake; twin sister, Maddison and Shadow, the cat. She is a hospital veteran — with around 20 surgeries to date — and a graduate of the Titanium Rib program.
