Neosho author spins magic in gripping new adventure-fantasy book
NEOSHO, Mo. — This week marks the nationwide release of “Secret of the Dragon’s Claw,” an adventure-filled new novel by author Jan Thompson. This juvenile fiction’s hardback edition will be released in October.
In “Secret of the Dragon’s Claw,” avid fantasy readers will find that once every 1,200 years, the balance of good and evil is challenged in the magical kingdom of Madagra by the appearance of the Cold Moon. Amara, the Keeper of Madagra, and her animal friends are sent on a mysterious quest by the wizard Harold to find and retrieve three mystical items before darkness can dominate the realm and the balance be shifted from good to evil.
During her quest, Amara learns the Secret of the Dragon’s Claw and the astonishing result of unleashing its power.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the books are available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Thompson and her husband, Thomas, live in their little home on a hill just outside of Neosho, Missouri. Reading has always been one of her favorite pastimes, but it wasn’t until the birth of her grandchildren, Amara and Jaron, that she actually began creating stories of her own for their entertainment. While her hobbies vary, without hesitation, she will tell her readers that her priorities are eternal — God and family.
