Beaumont author shares inspiring journey as pastor’s wife in new Christian book
BEAUMONT, Texas — Find out what it’s like to turn into a pastor’s wife in author Sharon Johnson Williams’ insightful new book, “We Interrupt This Marriage,” which is set to be released nationwide this week.
The majority of pastors’ wives said “I do” to preachers; Williams didn’t.
In “We Interrupt This Marriage,” the author shares her journey from being a coach’s wife to becoming a pastor’s wife. She did not have the same privilege of knowing that she was marrying a preacher as her husband had not yet recognized or realized what God really wanted from him. When Williams and her husband, Willie, met and began to date, he was a college student at Texas Christian University, playing football and majoring in physical education with a minor in speech communication. When they got engaged, he was a college graduate, seeking a career as a coach. When Williams said “I do,” she said “I do” to a happily employed high school football coach.
Fully content with the game plan they had drawn for themselves, she never could have imagined that her husband would preach the Gospel and pastor a church — and that she would be a pastor’s wife.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Williams is currently based in Beaumont, Texas. She and her husband have been married for over 33 years and have two adult daughters, Alexandria and Wynden. Meanwhile, Willie has been a pastor for more than 20 years.
