Sacramento author inspires love, understanding among families dealing with autism in new book
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Author James Strode announces the nationwide hardback release of his new book, “Loving My Autistic Prodigal Son.” Its paperback edition is set for release on the fourth week of October.
“Loving My Autistic Prodigal Son” is about that process — the unique challenges and real battles of will — that parents of autistic children inevitably go through. In these pages, Strode has described the enigma of trying to understand the thought processes of his child and the bewildering behaviors that made this necessary. In this book, Strode chronicles many anecdotes — slices of their family life that are all true in spirit and in details that have shaped his relationship with his son, Jimmy.
The author hopes that other parents and caregivers of children on the autism spectrum and with other unique disabilities and abilities will gain hope and encouragement from their story.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the books are available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Strode has published two books, “Norma Saves the Dinosaurs” and “Norma Defeats the Aliens.” The author is the father of an autistic child, a college professor and a heart attack survivor. There is one binding thread that keeps them from spinning wildly into the abyss — love — which is this book’s theme.
