Chandler author relives memories with father, strengthens relationship with Christ in new book
CHANDLER, Texas — Author Nancy Avedikian announces the nationwide release of her heartwarming new Spanish storybook, “Sabados con Papa.” Hardback copies of the book will be available early next month.
“Sabados con Papa” is a collection of the author’s endearing memories about time spent with her father. Being the son of Italian immigrants, Avedikian’s father overcame prejudice and rose to be esteemed by his community. He was strict in discipline but cared for her like she’s a princess. When the author entered high school, she learned that her father’s illness was serious. She learned to prepare for the future and, most of all, learned that she needed to have a relationship with the Lord.
The stories in “Sabados con Papa” are easy for young readers and will be enjoyed by girls and their mothers alike. Each story concludes with a Bible verse to encourage the reader to put her faith in the Lord.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the books are available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Avedikian retired after teaching bilingual students for 16 years. The author, who is currently a translator in the Special Education Department for a local school district, holds an associate degree from North Lake Community College and a bachelor’s degree in Spanish literature from the University of Dallas, both in Irving, Texas. She and her husband of 48 years have been active in their church and have worked with children and youth through the years. They are the proud grandparents of Lily, Josh, Lucy, Audrey and Brooks.
