Dallas author releases insightful, purpose-filled new memoir
DALLAS — Author Matthew Leatherwood announces the nationwide release of his new book, “Raising the Curtain: A Personal Journey to Spiritual Misunderstanding.” Its hardback edition is set to be released later this month.
“Raising the Curtain” is the half-century journey of Leatherwood to find himself and his spiritual center. Many people wander their entire lives and die, never finding who they are spiritually or knowing their place in the universe. Leatherwood’s journey is unique and compelling in that it demonstrates that everyone has a place in the universe and a purpose — if the journey is met with desire rather than disdain.
Leatherwood’s writing delves deep into the nature of life and expresses the beauty of life’s dichotomy. He challenges the reader to share in his journey through life and perhaps relate their own journey to his.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the books are available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Leatherwood earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in behavioral science from the University of Nebraska before moving to Texas in 1983. After a time, he joined the Dallas Fire Department. He is a trained emergency medical technician and, therefore, understands that humans have a tenuous grasp on life. He also knows that life can prevail through the direst circumstances. Leatherwood now resides in Dallas, Texas, where he, after 23 years, still serves as a lieutenant for the Dallas Fire Department.
