Nephi author releases useful genealogy, heraldry book
NEPHI, Utah — Author Elijah Hodges helps his readers trace back their family’s roots through his new book, “Brown Descendancy Chart,” which is set for nationwide release this week.

Hodges was born in Independence, Missouri, and has moved his residency 17 times since age 13. The 64-year-old author finished public school in Kearns High School in Kearns, Utah, and joined the Navy before being honorably discharged in 1980. Hodges attended college at the University of Utah and at Weber State, Ogden. A few years after marrying his wife in 1981, he joined the Army and was honorably discharged in 1994. After years of being employed in different companies, Hodges retired in 2012. He now owns a home in Nephi, Utah. The retired soldier and genealogist has five grown children.
