Woodman author spins delightful, lesson-filled fable in new children’s book
WOODMAN, Wis. — This week marks the nationwide release of “The Mouse, the Monkey and the Rock,” an adventure-filled new children’s book by author Jeff Lessard.
In “The Mouse, the Monkey and the Rock,” Mouse and Monkey are at it again, exploring their world, discovering new things and making new friends — all the while, learning important lessons. They encounter obstacles. They learn the world is a big place. But home is home, and even though you may be by yourself, you are never alone.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, the book is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
Lessard grew along the banks of the Mississippi on an island. The stories he were told were big like the world. Now, he is telling those stories. In this book, the Mouse and Monkey were modeled after his daughters, Inanda and Anola, while the rock is modeled after his son, Elijah. Lessard has been blessed to have these children and their older siblings — Georgia and Arlan. Currently, the author resides in Woodman, Wisconsin.
